Frustrating Experience with Airtel wifi Service - Unresolved Refund and Unfinished Installation
I’m posting here to express my extreme frustration and dissatisfaction with the service I’ve received from Airtel, specifically regarding my Airtel Black account (Wi-Fi + DTH). Here’s what happened: I requested an Airtel Air Fiber connection on 14th August 2024 and paid an advance of Rs. 3300. The installation team arrived and tried to set up the service, but there were technical issues, and they couldn't complete the installation. After a couple of days of back-and-forth, the team suggested raising a new connection under my father’s name, which was successfully installed. They assured me that the Rs. 3300 paid earlier would be refunded. **Fast forward to today:** I still haven’t received the refund, and on top of that, I’ve been charged Rs. 1311.17 for a service I never used. The Wi-Fi equipment is still sitting with me, and no one has come to collect it despite multiple reminders. I’ll admit, it was my mistake for not reporting this earlier, as my father was handling the issue, and I stay in a different city. But now, I’m realizing just how badly this has been mishandled. I even emailed Airtel customer care about this issue, and their response was baffling. They claim that I have two active accounts and that they can raise a disconnection request for the one under my name. **Do they expect me to have two Wi-Fi connections in the same house?** It’s beyond ridiculous, especially since the connection under my name was never even installed, and the router and receiver are still packed up in my house. This feels like a clear case of fraud. I’m extremely disappointed with how Airtel has handled this, and I’m seriously considering reporting this to consumer authorities if this isn’t resolved soon. Has anyone else had a similar experience with Airtel? Any advice on how to escalate this further? Thanks in advance for any help or advice!3
