Why do so many public sector guys act so delusional?
I swear, every government job guy I meet is on some next-level trip. Their whole personality is just “I have a central job,” “Look at my allowances,” and “I barely work, but I’m still superior.” Recently, I was in a carpool with this dude who works a central government job, and for 1.5 hours straight, he kept going on about how amazing he is, how he knows literally everything (yes, even the cure for cancer), and how government jobs are the peak of life. I thought, “Cool, whatever,” but then I ran into him again… and now every time we meet, he randomly starts interrogating me about my tech stack and project architecture—like, bro, am I in an interview?? And it’s not just him. Almost every public sector guy I’ve met has this same vibe—acting like they’re geniuses while doing the bare minimum. Even a couple of my close friends who landed government jobs have started acting weirdly self-important. I mentioned this to my girlfriend, and she thinks I’m judging too fast. But I don’t know, man, I feel like I’m seeing a pattern. Anyone else noticed this or is it just me?1
