Why do people in this sub always blame politicians?

I have read 2-3 answers related to problems in India, and most of the comments simply blamed politicians. I watched a video by Acharya Prashant where he mentioned that if he were to contest elections with a focus on development, reducing pollution, creating more jobs, etc., most Indians wouldn’t care much about it. Unless he talks about a specific religion, caste, language group, or community, no one would vote for him. And, to some extent, this seems true. I’m not saying politicians shouldn’t be blamed or held accountable, but at the end of the day, they are going to focus on what gets them votes. If people don’t prioritize development, pollution control, education, healthcare, infrastructure, or job creation when deciding their votes,, why would politicians care about these issues? Also I think most indian redditer are only from tier1/tier2 cities which is not even 30 % of population. Majority of power is within the rural India and they dont even know what's good for them. What do you think?
