Why are the 1st generation Indian American so arrogant??

In a plane ride a week back, I had many Indian Americans sitting around me. From the looks and their accent they were definitely 1 generation, which have settled in the US. But once I started to hear how they speak and how they treat people only tells me that their arrogance and behaviour is really obnoxious. Do these people forget that they used to be on the other side? And suddenly forget how India works?
