Marriages: Within same profession or otherwise

People who are married- was the profession of your spouse an important consideration in the process? Is it easier if the couple is the same industry / profession - similar social circle, can understand the demands. Particularly, since I'm a lawyer o feel it's better if my spouse is a lawyer too since it's just easier running a chamber then. I can leave the practice in trusted hands if I'm required to take time off for motherhood or otherwise.
