Regarding to getting in private with 6 year gaps after b.tech

GEM,28, passed out 6 years ago, had less than 60 in 12, so didnt get to sit in campus placements, tried for govt job , could only clear prelims its already too late , my friends are getting married and starting family, its a really mental stress at this point i want to go for private jobs now, would devops be a viable option for me? i have some devops materials and after giving it a try, i found it interesting, i knew c and python from college. with my year gaps, should i pursue that angle? or what else should i do? i just want to get in somehow into it and want to buildup from there, please give suggestions
