Why do top govt posts like IAS , IPS, still pays so less compared to top IT salaries. I am seeing everyone in IT earn 50LPA- 1 CPA and above and the top guys earn over 5-8 cr in a year or more. So why is the salary of cabinet secretary which is the the top govt post still pays 2.5L per month

So are govt jobs really worth in india (in today's atmosphere) or should one choose computer science as their career and build up skills in that domain rather than spending time preparing for these exams. Alteast in usa or other countries there is some parity between the salaries
