How come romance/love stories are so famous in Bollywood and Indian music but the society still represses any kind of romantic interaction in real life

Recently in my locality a group of aunties were shouting at newly wed couple for holding hands while walking in the park, saying things like "ye sab Ghar pe kara karo", "hamare bacho ke samne mat karo ye harkate"... These are also the same aunties who openly play romantic songs constantly on speakers and talk about romantic Bollywood movies loudly when their kids are playing around. I thought media influences how public views certain actions or sentiments but in terms of romance, Indian media and Indian society are polar opposites. Most if not all top songs of previous 3-4 decades have been romance songs but the people still shy away from basic romantic interactions. Why is that? Religion? Upbringing? Family values?
