Do you think caste system in India is dying or is it always going to be present in different forms?

Same as title, why is it that even after many years of independence and advance education & awareness about the ill effects that caste still has a role to play in people's decision making. What is preventing people to break free from the mindset of pure and impure just depending on the caste that people are born into?
