Do men really need to "provide" anymore, or is that an outdated idea?
For most of history, men were expected to be the primary providers (bringing in resources, protecting their families, and making sure everyone was taken care of). But in 2025, does that role still make sense? Women are out-earning men in some places, traditional gender roles are shifting, and a lot of people argue that relationships should be equal partnerships. At the same time, many women still say they want a man who is "ambitious" and financially stable, and some guys feel like they’re not respected unless they’re the breadwinner. So what’s the reality? Is the idea that men *must* provide outdated? Or do most relationships still expect men to step up financially, even if people won’t admit it? Would love to hear different perspectives, especially from guys in relationships or married. Do you feel pressure to be the provider, or is that not really a thing anymore?4
