Why amaravati is unfit as capital of Andhra Pradesh?
My take on it…. Andhra Pradesh is rightfully known as the “Rice Bowl of India”, a title earned through decades of agricultural excellence. Since its formation, the state’s economy has been predominantly driven by agriculture, with the majority of its economic contributors being farmers. The fertile lands of Andhra Pradesh are not just a source of livelihood for millions but also a critical pillar of the state’s economic stability. Now, let’s talk about the so-called “futuristic capital”—Amaravati. What is Amaravati today? A village with a negligible population but extraordinarily fertile land, capable of producing three crops a year—something incredibly rare in India. Instead of recognizing the significance of this agricultural treasure, Chandrababu Naidu, the self-proclaimed visionary leader and India’s richest Chief Minister, along with Pawan Kalyan, is pushing to establish a capital city there. And for what? To serve their personal interests and those of their Kamma and Kapu allies, while sacrificing one of the state’s most productive agricultural regions. Destroying prime farmland for urban expansion isn’t just short-sighted—it’s economically and environmentally disastrous. And yet, we’re expected to believe that CBN is a visionary? A true visionary would prioritize sustainable development, regional balance, and agricultural preservation, not reckless urbanization at the cost of the very sector that sustains Andhra Pradesh. The people of Andhra Pradesh deserve leadership that values long-term prosperity over short-term gains. If Amaravati is truly about the state’s future, then why not develop already barren or underutilized lands instead of wiping out a fertile agricultural heartland? The question isn’t whether Andhra Pradesh needs a capital—the question is why it should come at the cost of its backbone, its farmers, and its food security. Open for a healthy debate!!5
