Off-campus placements in chemical

Hey guys, I’m asking for a friend who’s graduating from a different (old) IIT in chemical engineering. The placements in his IIT weren’t great, so I just wanted to know how to approach off campus placements in chemical engineering. He has a core profile, but doesn’t mind core or non-core job. Specifically has the following questions: 1. What kinds of projects should be on a resume for core companies. 2. Can you suggest some companies to apply to?
