Why the newspaper "The Hindu" cost higher in Maharashtra than other places? I have been reader of "The Hindu" newspaper for last 12 years. It usually cost ₹7 on weekdays and goes upto ₹12 in Tamilnadu. I recently moved to Maharashtra and the newspaper cost ₹12 on weekdays and goes upto ₹15 on weekends. Also there is a post in everyday newspaper that "surcharge Ahmedabad ₹5". Why the rate differs from state to state? Just curious to understand this. 2 0 replies
