Can we offset short-term capital gains (STCG) losses against long-term capital gains (LTCG) profits?

I have ₹1.5 lakh in LTCG and ₹3,000 in STCG. I would like to know if I can sell some underperforming short-term stocks to reduce my LTCG profits from ₹1.5 lakh to below ₹1.25 lakh.

    Christmas calm 🎄

It's funny how there's been no recent shooting from the hills. Incessant shooting during the last week of October and first week of November during our festivities. And the time of paddy harvesting. It was sad how badly our farmers had to endure, on top of low yield of crops. It's all quite now. Wish this Christmas laze & calm would continue. Merry Christmas to those that celebrate.

Building a product with AI tools

Cofounders and I have launched a saas company in 2018 (sold in 2022). We are launching a new venture, in saas as well. We’re very interested in leveraging AI capabilities to build our product faster (we’re in the MVP phase), we know the tools have changed a lot in the last couple of years. Which tools and resources would you recommend to bring me up to speed in that area? I’m particularly interested in the advice of cofounders who have launched a product in the past ~12 months and...

Land Rates in Vijaynagar 1st stage.

My family owns a land of about 4000 sq feet in Vijaynagar 1st stage and we are planning to sell it since we are long settled in Tamilnadu. Before approaching to brokers or other possible buyers I just would like to get an idea on the market rate and don't want to get cheated. Any input helps. Thanks.

Dealership offering RR310 bomber grey for the price of racing red model

So the dealership messed up my order twice. First they placed my order for racing red with quick-shifter and after a week then they called me saying that the order got cancelled. I was mad and asked them to place the order again. They placed the order. After a couple of days they called me again said that by mistake they got bomber grey colour. Bomber grey costs 5.5k more but i dislike this colour based on online photos and videos. I really love the racing red colour judging...

    Time to exit Quant

I was one of the early adopters of the Quant story back in 2019. Sandeep Tandon has made me a ton of profit in the past as I invest in 5 Quant funds across my family of eight. And I do not make a great deal out of the Front Running allegations back in June 2024, their ethics may have been wobbly but a fund must be judged solely on its financial metrices. But now for the first time in nearly 6 years I am forced to question their...

Is this a good SEO startegy?

Hi, Say you have a service business which you can sell to many industries. Is it a good strategy to create pages for each industry you sell to? Such as: \- Painting Services for Churches and Monasteries \- Painting Services for Gyms, Yoga Studios \- Painting Services for Office Buildings \- Painting Services for Restaurants and the list could go on for a long time... Now the content within can be different or at least varied to a degree, but it will contain some of the same main benefits...

Arbitrage Opportunity in ETFs Tracking an Index?

If an ETF like the HDFC Smallcap 250 falls by 2% but its tracking index smallcap 250 only drops by 1.5%, is there an arbitrage opportunity here? Or am I misunderstanding how ETF pricing works? Looking for insights!

Is this the right thing to do?

Hi everyone, I’m a student currently navigating a rough patch, both financially and mentally. The pressure to earn money has been overwhelming lately. I’ve tried taking up a few part-time gigs and managed to land a home tuition job that has been going well. However, the pay isn’t enough to meet my needs. I’ve tried reaching out to people on Reddit, hoping to connect with those who might have opportunities. But lately, I’ve been questioning myself: Is this the right thing to do? Even though I genuinely need help,...
