Same experience when I test drove the Slavia 1.0l. I had already booked it during the December discount (2.5 lakhs), did the test drive after the booking. The salesman said that it's due to it being a turbo engine (he probably thought I was stupid). All yt reviewers saying that the 1.0 l TSI is more refined than a 4 cylinder engine have been paid well. It's hella loud as well, when they came to my house and drove off, all I could think was "damn is that a diesel engine?". Even my father asked if it was a diesel engine during the test drive (he doesn't know Skoda discontinued the TDI engines). Cancelled the booking after that.

My suggestion to all - keep yourself hydrated as much as you can and avoid eating outside.
