He would exchange lots of letters n stuff all the way from Jaipur, never having met her once. Phone calls used to be tough to come by in those days. Not every house had access to Telephones. Due to lots of serendipity and coincidences he met her again in Chennai n all ended well.

Common sense and public etiquette are not really common here in India. I have just completed a long ride and most of it was NH or SH, and guess what, I have to show my middle finger and come sit on my D sign numerous of times to the people overtaking wrongly (the car/truck drivers expect you to step down in the side line on a single way so that they can overtake successfully) and young lads without helmets, chappals with two pillion behind them wants to race with you with their 100cc motorcycle, people using proper indicators while switching lanes are as rare as my V-Storm in this country.

Below is my short opinion, but note that I was there for only a couple of days. I might be wrong.

It was extremely dry and hot.

It was definitely not as good as cities like Chennai, Pune, or Bangalore.

Most fellows like cab drivers, servers, etc. looked like crooks to me. They were trying to exploit fare.

They knew little English, but almost everyone, by default, spoke in Hindi. Cab driver was fluent in Hindi.
