Sons will never listen to any criticism of their mother. As should be because no sons who dislike their mother are another issue. But mumma's boys especially are so attached and they have never left home and don't leave home after marriage too, hence there is no need to discontinue with old habits.

Plan out things that are more exciting than mumma time, and those things might not interest his mother. Never exclude her. One, she will be bored and leave you two to go one with your stuff.
