So, my former colleague—let’s call him Mr. A—joins our firm in a mission-critical role. Now, our CEO? A man of extreme expectations. He believes onboarding is a luxury, training is a waste of time, and productivity should start before the biometric access is granted.

Two days in, CEO calls Mr. A into his office.

CEO: "Here’s some work. Shouldn’t take more than a day."

Reality: It’s at least a week’s work for anyone with a pulse.

Next day, CEO calls him up:

CEO: "What’s the status?"

Mr. A: "Uh… I’m working on it."

CEO, with zero reaction, simply says: "Okay."

(Translation: "Your grace period is over.")

Another day passes.

CEO (now visibly twitching): "What’s the status now?"

Mr. A: "Still working on it."

CEO snaps.

CEO: "STILL?! WHY IS THIS TAKING SO LONG?! THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE YESTERDAY! EVEN A SLUG WITH A BROKEN LEG WOULD HAVE FINISHED IT!"

Now, at this point, the CEO’s blood pressure is breaching safety limits, his face is redder than a stop sign..

And this is when Mr. A absolutely breaks the simulation.

Instead of defending himself, apologizing, or even looking remotely concerned, he starts laughing.

Not a nervous chuckle. Not a polite smile. A full-blown, unhinged, rolling-on-the-floor, laugh-till-you-cry moment.


Mr. A, barely breathing between laughs, goes:

"Chettan enthina ingane kidannu choodaavane… ithu oru aazhchayatha pani alle? Athinu cheetha paranjaal nerathe theerillallo!"
And then? He just keeps laughing.

CEO? Complete system shutdown.


He just stares at Mr. A and says nothing. Then, after a few seconds of silence, he simply waves his hand and says, ""Get out"

The next day.

HR calls me:

"Hey, have you seen Mr. A? His laptop is here, but he’s not."

I call Mr. A.

Mr. A, casually says:
"Tell CEO to check his mail."

I pass the message. CEO checks.

Mr. A had already resigned.

No notice period. No handover. Just a laptop, an email, and a legacy.

A few weeks later, I ran into Mr A. outside, and that’s when I hear the full story.

And honestly? A 10/10 exit. No notes.
