Brahmatal Trek. Need suggestions please

Hey all, 21m from bangalore here, planning a solo trek to brahmatal on jan 19 or jan 25 through TTH. Travelling from Bangalore. This will be my first trek and have the nerves and also excited. Any suggestions and tips regarding the trek and the equipments? Please share ur experience if u have done the particular trek before or any treks through TTH. Have one day off in Rishikesh, what can I do around, activities , places to see and stay or eat. If anyone is planning for the same trek during the dates please do connect. Please drop in your suggestions , would really help as its my first solo travel and trek.
