Want to rebuild an agraharam (traditional row house like the ones in Puthen Street, Karamana etc.,) but want to maintain the traditional elements - any architects who are into this?

The contractors architects I've spoken to just want demolish and rebuild a run of the mill regular concrete building which I don't want to. Any pointers?
