Stocks? Funds? Futures? Forex? HELP ME.

Hi guys, sorry if the question may be stupid for you. As a beginner I was wondering what I should focus on...actions? funds? futures? or forex? Consider that I would like to divide my portfolio like this: half the capital in day trading and half the capital in long-term investments to hold firm and (hopefully) grow. What do you think? Please clarify your ideas.
