Shorting

I’m a beginner to trading, I have some money in crypto and stocks. I’d like to move quickly as I believe all hell is about to break loose in the market. so could you please give me some advice or discussion on shorting markets. I’m in the uk and use trading 212 and some crypto exchanges , but I can join more platforms if necessary. It seems quite difficult to do especially with certain restrictions with the uk regulation laws? correct me if I’m wrong. i think it would be smart to bet against the us dollar at this point
