Looking to start?

I'm looking to get into trading but I have no reference of trading in my own life, I was curious on how to start? like where I actually trade, how it all works, the real basics of everything I live in Australia if that changes any of the places I should use? all replies are greatly appreciated EDIT: i keep getting ads for plus500's trading demo is that any good for getting a kind of idea what to do?
