How to not get scam?

Sorry for the low effort post. At the age of 30, I'm gonna start my Investing adventures now. But some couple stuff I heard is that Investing is a scam, this person is shady, don't buy this book. I know a quick cash grab is just too good to be real. I plan for years of investment on studying it and playing a simulator now. However, I watch youtube videos of it and I don't know if I should believe them or not. What's your advice to avoid sketchy people?
