Whats up with MaziTMT?

Can someone tell me how MaziTMT is supposed to work? Every time I take a TMT bus, I ask the conductor if I can take the ticket on MaziTMT app and they say their ticketing device doesn’t support it. I really don’t understand the dependency on the conductor’s device. Also, why aren’t the conductors aware of the app when the chief minister himself launched it.
