Makkale - 3 week TN road itinerary help.

Hi, I want to plan a really fun, historical, cultural road trip across important spots in TN with my boyfriend. I am from Chennai but moved out when I was 15 itself so i haven't explored TN much. We want to eat excellent food, explore history and culture, and enjoy with some luxury. can you suggest the important locations we should not miss?
