Can unmarried man adopt child in india ? exspecially TamilNadu

Is there possibility of adopting child or baby in india without marriage. I had it in mind for long time but now I don't want to , I'll adopt a child in future coz in my current situation I adopt child , it will ruin kid life . I have clear mind about adoption for my future.
