A door to door rep came into my clinic and claimed he’s from Google

He asked that he can set up Google business and qr code for gpay for free. I refused, he asked for my number to sign in, I refused and said I use other payment gateway. He then got up and took leave, I requested to see his visiting card, he gave me his ID but no other information except his name, picture and Google logo along with another company name. Is this common for people to just barge in to a business and say that it’s free and start to get our details?
