Is marksheet or security deposit asked to be submitted for IT Freshers in surat?

I was asked to submit my marksheet or a security deposit check of Rs 50,000 along with a bond for an internship to full time role for IT freshers in surat. Is this quite common here? Have you had any trouble associated with it before?
