What makes a stock tradable intraday or in swing trading (part-2d) Examples and backtest.
In the [last post](https://www.reddit.com/r/StocksQnA/comments/1hieuc8/what_makes_a_stock_tradable_intraday_or_in_swing/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) we have gone through a very common pattern and volume cycle when stock is in play aka tradable. Now let's do some ground work to understand it on charts with multiple examples. These will be cherry picked samples and there's always exception to this pattern based on market context and catalyst in stocks. In longer time frames(Swing/Positional Trading) 1. RVNL(Multi legged move) https://preview.redd.it/8p7louirmdae1.png?width=2446&format=png&auto=webp&s=27f76f2d23318a28923720fc3c246ba8d5d0fc46 RVNL(Nov-2021 – Nov-2022) This leg was the foundational breakout for this stock post which stock had multiple legs and became multibagger, not all stocks having same pattern will become multibaggers they just might have 1 move and then crack down based on various factors like catalyst, sectors, market etc. . Try looking at more such railway stocks : IRCON, RAILTEL, IRFC to understand corelated moves in multiple stocks of a sector in play. 2. COCHINSHIPYARD(Multi legged move) https://preview.redd.it/mdw85uirmdae1.png?width=2443&format=png&auto=webp&s=ccaeeb80ffa6549a08e3de4497922e7ee2bb020c Cochinshipyard(July-2021 – Nov-2022) As this was also pretty similar to RVNL as both of these stocks were part of huge sector rotations and mega themes. They saw multibagger moves going ahead. Try looking at more such defence stocks : GRSE, MAZDOCK, PARASDEFENCE. These two example are very rare to find as these were ideal scenarios and usually we do not see such clear price action and combination of other parameters in the market. But when you find these make sure to hammer them with correct size and hold duration. 3. PAYTM(A price turnaround) https://preview.redd.it/7xifuuirmdae1.png?width=2449&format=png&auto=webp&s=54e6b6de1b916eec6aff6e0f1c1e9d46954cf44b Paytm(Dec-23 – Dec-24) It was a standard price bottoming and turnaround showing similar price and volume action to that of a stock in play, it was big choppy action more than usual but a good positional trade to be in. Understanding the catalyst and company news is key to these kind of turnaround in prices. 4. IFCI(A anticipated multibagger) https://preview.redd.it/k16utvirmdae1.png?width=2444&format=png&auto=webp&s=b2e155b76ab79747d07c1cb33ab5d485739010e2 IFCI(Jan-23 – May-24) You do not have to act at random levels, let the stock show you the right price and volume action and then get involved to outperform markets. 5. DYCL(Ideal/dreamy price action) https://preview.redd.it/l90e2sirmdae1.png?width=2451&format=png&auto=webp&s=f7e76a4b569961931dfe77e7a2fa1431e0d50d8d DYCL(Feb-23 – Aug-23) This is one of the cleanest price action that you can get, these are the setups that have potential to compound your capital rapidly. As it was one of the wire/cable sector leader hence showed extraordinary strength, sector leaders are very strong stock and the move early before other stocks in sector, post this many cable stocks came into play. I would like you to spot more of these on daily charts to get your eyes set to identify when a stock is tradable and can give you the max returns, comment it out if you find more such examples to improve yours and others knowledge on it. You need to have skin in the game to get the outperformance just reading a post won't help you get returns, get in there get your hands dirty and dig out some awesome backtests. In shorter time frames(Intraday Trading) Intraday trading is all about stock selection and execution of your edge, if you give me random stocks with no movement I would not be able to make a single rupee in that and would eventually blow up my account, it very very crucial to be in the right stock at the right time. As price and volume action is fractal and hence is seen on the lower timeframes as well just like the higher timeframes, lets look at some examples: 1. AVANTIFEED(A catalyst play) - 2min timeframe https://preview.redd.it/ewapgsirmdae1.png?width=1567&format=png&auto=webp&s=fc465b54c74ab6f0fc81916e4e00210e5396ff79 Avantifeed(31 Dec 2024) 2. GREAVESCOTTON(A blend of multiple high grade catalysts)- 2min timeframe https://preview.redd.it/9dw4csirmdae1.png?width=1746&format=png&auto=webp&s=9fce70010b56f8aba099c649a1e8c3b47972004e Greavescotton(10 Dec 2024) 3. BAJAJHCARE(Multiday in play) - 15 min timeframe https://preview.redd.it/hj8td2jrmdae1.png?width=1358&format=png&auto=webp&s=440a9a95026bf3a69b167dd742985e54c34a8295 Bajajhcare(6 Dec 2024 – 19 Dec 2024) 4. AMBER(Multi catalyst stock near all time highs) - 2 min time frame https://preview.redd.it/d6qcbuirmdae1.png?width=1334&format=png&auto=webp&s=7910b8ec87c8c449cef2b38cb012908a03a62e25 Amber(23-24 Dec 2024) These are some examples that I found interesting and shows the volume patterns we've discussed over past few posts, as someone who wants to up their trading game you should study top gainers with high volumes frequently to notice the nuances and setups they have in common. It's all about repetitions, training your eyes to see the patterns and execute on your setups. If there's any queries you can comment it out, Also would love to see other people putting some of their observations and backtests. I hope 2025 will be a great financial, emotional, healthy year for you all. Happy new year 🎉🎉.
