I wanted to analyze market sentiment and the performance of a specific stock over a given period. So, I conducted a seasonality analysis of Hindalco Industries. I observed that the stock has had negative returns in most of January over the past 16 years. It also experienced negative returns in March of 2018 and 2015 (excluding 2020 for obvious reasons). To understand the underlying reasons, I decided to examine news coverage related to the economy and the stock during those periods. I also asked ChatGPT for guidance on how to do this, but the results weren’t particularly helpful.
