Single app for Mutual funds and Stocks
App for Mutual funds/stocks is asked multiple times daily on this sub and others, and the comments suggest doing a Google search. So, I did some search and research on this and the following is the outcome Myself: * 35 yrs old, IT/Programming with 13 yrs experience * Investing using Paytm money for 4 years * Risk: Moderate to aggressive Requirements: **1. Mutual Funds in SoA format:** After extensive research, even with some cons, SoA is the preferred format. Thus, Zerodha Coin and Upstox are not on the list. * **Paytm Money** (since I already use it) * Dhan * Groww * Kuvera 1. **Stocks (Equity Delivery):** A demat account is required and each broker will create a new one for free, so looking for the least charges for transactions and AMC (Annual maintenance charges) * **Dhan**: No brokerage, No AMC * Zerodha Kite: No brokerage, 300 AMC * Paytm Money, Groww: 20 INR brokerage max per txn, but no AMC Note: After some calculations, the charges are 120-150 per 1 lakh of value (buy/sell) on all major platforms. In the long term, a difference of a few hundred rupees in a year does not matter much. **3. SIP:** * SIP is a requirement and all of them do offer it. * STP, and SWP are nice to have but not crucial. * Weekly or bi-weekly SIP is another nice to have Apps Apps for SIP Apps for SIP features * Kuvera, **Zerodha**, Groww, Dhan(?) * Paytm Money lacks advanced sip **4. Desktop version**: Being a programmer and a little old, I prefer the desktop version along with the mobile app. It's good to buy/sell on a desktop after viewing the charts on a larger screen. * Zerodha is good in this along with the desktop version * Dhan **6. Others**: User adoption, founders, company behind the app, customer support, security * Zerodha: most users * Groww: max growth nearing Zerodha * Dhan: adoption is fast Given these requirements, i have 2 options 1. Paytm Money for MF, Zerodha for Stocks 2. Dhan for everything Please share your feedback, especially how is dhan UI, on first look, it looks good.5
