should i quite stock market?
Hey everyone, I'm a 19-year-old student from a not-so-rich family, and I started investing in January this year. One of my first stocks was RVNL, and things were great initially—my portfolio grew to ₹60k, and I was really happy. At that point, my portfolio was: * **80% Equity** * **20% IPO** I even convinced my parents to invest, and they made ₹30k from IPOs! But then came September, and the market started crashing. My mom had invested in a mutual fund (Quant Midcap), and it went down by 20%. She had to withdraw the money for personal reasons. **Then, I made some big mistakes:** 1. Tried **intraday trading** failed miserably and lost ₹10k. Left it for 2 months. 2. A friend helped me recover the ₹10k loss by doing some trades for me. 3. Tried **options trading** got a ₹2k profit initially but then lost ₹10k again. I realized it was mostly greed. I used to set targets but waited for more profit, and *boom*—the gains were gone. I wanted to start 2025 on a good note with profits, but instead, I ended up with a ₹1k loss. **Ab tak jo hua, kya ye sab tukka tha?** * My answer: *Partially yes and no.* * **Options trading:** 100% tukka. * **Equity:** Padh ke liya tha, but kabhi-kabhi FOMO mein chala gaya. Now, I just checked my **P&L**, and my portfolio (equity + F&O) is at **-₹8000**. To all the experts here, I genuinely seek your guidance: 1. How can I stop making losses and start earning consistently? 2. Can you recommend any good courses? (I find YouTube content scattered—it explains concepts, but I don’t know where to start.) But now I’m wondering: * Should I just quit investing for now and start again after I get a job? * Should I focus on **paper trading** for practice? (I tried it, and I made a few lakhs there, but it doesn’t feel the same as actual investing.) Any advice would mean a lot to me https://preview.redd.it/z4ilm8ruqcae1.png?width=1153&format=png&auto=webp&s=bcbba0995790e5f5ce96a61721529fd6e99089593
