One of the reasons for fall in share market
I began trading after covid and made a decent buck. I cashed out most of my investment since I needed my money and whatever that is left has suffered massive decline in profit margins. Me and a couple of friends were discussing a reason for fall of markets. FIIs are obvious. Me and my friends belong to business communities. Mainly trading. What we have observed is that most companies we deal in are declining in sales and the growth it shows is basically due to price rise. Online and mall placements of products have actually reduced sales. Here is a reason why. Companies have to give a heavy discounted price to malls and online sellers. Thats a reduction of operating margins. Second only the cheapest products are sold at such places usually. The base model if we put it. Base models are cheap and are sold at minimum margins. The premium products always have been where the companies really make profit. We can see the results of product based companies where most of them are struggling. A sales agent who comes to me kind of predicted it a year back. He said companies are actually struggling for sales. Online market place is all about deep discounting which isn't feasible anymore. As a result a lot of companies have started making sub standard products or products with higher MRP to be sold on online platforms. Its a stop gap measure at most. I know its not the place for such discussion and take it with a grain of salt, but its just an analysis from a business prospective.4
