Since October 2024, the index has fallen by approximately 11.7%, with a 3% drop already recorded this month. This downturn is primarily attributed to aggressive selling by foreign institutional investors (FIIs), who have offloaded over ₹2 lakh crore in Indian equities since October 2024, influenced by a weakening rupee and more attractive opportunities in recovering markets like China. Technical analysts suggest that if the Nifty50 remains below the 22,850 mark, it may further correct towards the 22,500–22,400 range in the short term.3
