How to hedge my mutual funds

I am a risk averse investor and have basic knowledge of finance. I have been investing SIPs of non equal amount for past 2 years. This year I am planning to do MBA and would need this investment entirely (or atleast 50% of this). But I want to hedge my Risk against fall in stock market due to any virus outbreak or crash. I am thinking to buy naked positions in Put to hedge my portfolio. Is it a good decision or are there any other ways? I am at loss of almost a lac since my portfolio's top.
