How is your STCG and LTCG taxed from your stock trading?

For those who have been trading for at least last few years, please explain how STCG and LTCG are computed and taxed? Is it taxed at source by the broker or you pay it during the time of your filing taxes? What has changes from last year to this year in terms of taxes?
