Highway Lifetime and yearly subscription are new STT in india

May be wrong sub, but it's more related to STT and Highways. I would call it as Tax_on_tax_on_tax scam. Back when STT was introduced reasons were we don't have to pay LTCG, STCG. Fast forward we pay both. The new trend which ministry of roads(or anyone concerned) has proposed or likely to propose the bill which offers yearly subscription or Lifetime free subscription is the new STT. This is what will happen in future according to me. Pure speculation and my opinion only. Make people pay annual or lifetime fees for highway access. After few(5+ years) they will introduce another bill saying: 1. Previous bill proposed is applicable only for existing roads and new roads constructed after 2025 will not be accessible for old passes(read to like time you buy, your pass will be applicable only for existing roads ). In order to use new roads you have to pay new toll charges or buy new yearly subscription for accessing new roads. 2. Second, they will simply introduce "token" amount again saying maintainance charges (but won't term it as "toll" fees) 3. Might as well shamelessly introduce back toll fees but might give little discount for existing "pass" holders. New scam it might be, but we don't know it until it's all over. <Again, my opinion, you may trust the govt if you have good faith. Come back again 10-15 years from the time proposed bill is in action> !remindme 15years???
