Congratulate me. I just gave up day trading.
I started day trading in July with a capital of 20k. That allowed me to trade with 1 lakh. I had been on sidelines for years but wanted to check this off the bucket list. Till today morning, 10:30 I have lost 9k. 4k since start of this year. I do reasonable research, look at 5 and 20 day crossover and follow candlesticks. I have been an accountant in the past and understanding the research wasn't too difficult. Maybe some can make a profit but I can't. There are too many variables at play. I found something strange though. Shares which rise on a particular day, tend to shoot up right after opening bell. If a share gains 1.7% intraday about 1.4% comes in first 30 seconds. I have seen this hundreds of times in past 7 months. I might be wrong though. But from now, no more day trading. Only 2 year horizon investment in MF and gold. Even if one can make a profit, the stress is not worth it. You might have 10k at stake or 10 lakhs but the pressure is intense. And it is no better than gambling. This is checked off my bucket list. The itch has been scratched. Now to return to normal life.3
