Unpublished My App, Now Considering a Co-Founder Matching Platform
I recently unpublished my app from the App Store because things didn’t work out with my cofounder. Naturally, I started thinking about repurposing the code and app to create something new—a co-founder matching platform. Interestingly, I was recently invited to join a new co-founder matching app that charges around $50/month. I’d like to take a different approach and offer co-founder matching for free. Here’s the idea: An AI-powered system interviews users to understand their values, priorities, and skills, then matches them with like-minded individuals. This would make finding a co-founder more accessible and meaningful. I’m a software engineer (Australia) and can handle a lot myself, but I’d love to find someone passionate about this idea to collaborate on building the app. The tech stack I envision includes React Native, TypeScript, Terraform, PostgreSQL, AWS Lambda, and OpenAI. I want to be upfront—profitability for this app is questionable. My goal is to make it free, at least for basic co-founder matching. Maybe there could be paid extras, like startup coaching or help preparing pitch decks, but I’d rather keep the core service accessible, especially for first-time founders who often lack funds. This might end up being more of a hobby project, so I’m looking for someone who’s excited about contributing to a platform aimed at helping society and fostering innovation. If this resonates with you, let’s connect and discuss!2
