Staying focused (I will not promote)
Every day, I sit down to work on something important. And every day, my brain decides it’s the perfect time to: \* Remember a random conversation from 2016 \* Debate whether I should switch to a different note-taking app (again) \* Research something “strategic” that won’t matter for another six months \* Suddenly get obsessed with a startup that just raised $20M for no reason And those are just the obvious distractions. The worst ones are the sneaky ones—the thoughts that *feel* relevant but don’t actually help me move forward today. They just feel *nice to know*. So my question is simple: **How do you keep your brain from constantly drifting?** What actually works for you—habits, mental tricks, tools? I’ve read *Deep Work* (loved it), but I can’t see myself going full monk mode just yet. Maybe if nothing else works. I know Reddit isn’t exactly the best place to ask this (since, well… distractions), but I’m hopeful. What’s worked for you?3
