Founders that use X... How do you actually grow? (I will not promote)

I know X is the place to share build progress, connect, and grow traction, but I’m trying to understand how it *actually* works. I see accounts doing what I feel is the same thing with tons of engagement, while mine just disappears into the void. People always say 'engage more' or 'buy followers,' but that doesn’t seem like the full picture. I’m building a B2B for car dealers and a B2C for guitarists (not the usual super tech focused), but nonetheless finding the right audience feels impossible. How do you actually gain traction without just firing tweets into the void?
