Find suggestions about my startup app. I will not promote this app.
Hi everyone, I’m a full-stack engineer with 20 years of development experience, and I recently began developing products independently. I chose to build an iOS app for the App Store because: 1. The App Store’s user base is global, which means I can avoid dealing with payment issues across multiple countries. 2. Users on the App Store generally have a higher willingness to pay for quality content. Consequently, I developed an app primarily aimed at helping users improve their language expression skills. My target audience is: 1. Users in North America and the UK, since my content is in English and isn’t geared toward other regions. 2. Individuals who want to hone their communication skills—such as students, professionals, or even those who face challenges with language expression. The main features of my app include: 1. I’ve carefully organized common life scenarios into categories such as the workplace, family, dating, and social settings. 2. In each category, I’ve designed several scenarios. Each scenario provides background context followed by a “question” that simulates one posed by a potential conversational partner. Users are expected to respond verbally, after which the app scores their answer and offers feedback. 3. Users can replay their responses, view answers from other users, and even like or comment on them. 4. (A planned future feature) In a given scenario, users could engage in free dialogue with the app. Based on the user’s reply, the app would continue the conversation with appropriate responses, mimicking a dynamic conversation partner. I’ve also invested in paid promotions on the App Store and have been continually tweaking keywords, but the results haven’t been promising, as evidenced by two main issues: 1. Although the ads are generating impressions—indicating that users are discovering my app via keyword searches—very few are clicking on it. 2. Some users download the app but only answer one question upon opening it, and they’re reluctant to make in-app purchases. So, I need your insights on the potential problems with my app: 1. Is my target audience accurate? In other words, is there a large enough group of users who either want to improve their language expression skills or who have difficulties with language communication? 2. Does the format of my app offer enough appeal, and does it effectively address the language expression challenges users face? 3. Would these users be willing to pay for this app? If possible, could you also analyze and suggest adjustments to help my app attract more users and encourage them to make in-app purchases? I will not promote this app, just find some suggestions.5
