Does the AI boom feel like the dot com boom to you? (i will not promote)

For those who lived through the 90s with the emergence of the internet and the dot com bubble (I haven't), does the AI race feel somewhat similar right now? Does it make you feel like you're in a gold rush and a hurry to create, otherwise you'll be left behind? I'm watching the Blackberry movie right now and saw the engineers scrambling to put email in your pocket, creating this sense of urgency and race against time and competitors. My first thought was "huh, kinda feels like AI right now", and I'm wondering if the magnitude of this rush is the same as the one you experienced in the late 90s? Happy to hear stories.
