Bad experience with SNT employee
Yesterday, I was heading back to my hometown from GTK for my winter break. Since I was running late, all the taxis to my town were gone, and I had to take the bus instead. The journey was slow because of a traffic jam caused by road construction, and I finally reached home at 6 PM. It was already dark by then, as winter days are short. Here’s where things got frustrating: When I arrived, I asked the bus driver(uncle) if I could make the payment online. He immediately said, "Hudaina" (No). This was confusing because the bus had UPI stickers all over it and our government has mandated to provide QR code for passenger convenience. So, I asked if I could use my card to swipe since I clearly saw the machine sitting on his dashboard. Again, he said, "Hudaina" .Again!! Ahh.. In my support, I’m a student and didn’t have enough balance to withdraw cash from ATM. So i ask him again he said"Hudaina bhaneko, bujenaww?" (I already said no; don’t you understand?). Thankfully, a fellow passenger from my village helped pay for me, and I promised to return the money later. As I was stepping off the bus, I politely said, “Uncle, buses should allow online payments.Guys I assure you, my tone was respectful and not raised. I was already feeling awkward and, in an attempt to ease the situation and interact with him normally, I said, 'Uncle, UPI chai hunuparcha hai. That’s when he completely lost it. He started yelling at me in a way no one has ever yelled at me before. He said things like, “mukh lagako!mukh lageko!First time bus chadcha, mukh nalaga baini. Complain gara jaw!” (It’s your first time on a bus, don’t talk back, sister. Go complain if you wannt).Brotherrrr...frankly I was afraid at a moment. I was honestly shocked. I’ve never argued with anyone in my life (except my siblings😁), and anyone who knows me can vouch for that. I didn’t say anything disrespectful to him and I know it's not easy to be in his place and to meet new people and act tough but no one has the right to put someone down just because they’re louder. After getting off the bus, I walked home, which takes about five minutes from the main road, while reflecting on what had just happened. Is this what adulthood is really like? Maybe I'm overreacting, but please understand, ladiesss or gentlemannn it was my first time experiencing something so rude from a stranger, and I ended up crying, either out of frustration or due to my hormonal distress during my period. Idk why I’m venting here—maybe I do need some validation (don’t we all?), or maybe I just needed to get this off my chest. Thenks reading2
