    wordpress pillarpages and url

Hi all, I am making a website that (apart from a blog with posts) will be using pillar pages that are also reflected in the menu. I am looking for some advice how to properly structure this because the url seems to be getting very long how it is working by default. Main topic (=also primary menu item and pillar page) |\_\_\_\_\_ Sub-topic (= secondary menuitem and pillar page) |\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Sub-sub-topic (= not a menu item, but referred to from the pillar page of the sub topic pillar page) If I make the maintopic the parent page of the Sub-topic (and this the parent for te sub-sub-topic), it is added in front in the URL, This makes the URL very long. I can choose to not assign any parents, but I find that a bit unstructured, moreover, the breadcrumbs won't work (needless to say). Does anyone know a good approach to reflect the hierarchy in the breadcrumbs, but not necessarily in the url? Any other tips are also welcome. I also thought about abrieviating the urls for the main topic, but that is perhaps not good for SEO? For example: breadcrumbs: CARS > Hybrid Cars > driving-through-the-jungle-in-hybrid-car URL: domain/driving-through-the-jungle-in-a-hybrid-car
