Could a JSON update influence the position on Google?

Hello. Is it possible that an update to a JSON file used for a website causes the Google position to drop (increase actually)? Background: I have a small data analytics website online. The website pulls data from a JSON file, which I create. This file is updated hourly. In mid-December 2023 \[note: assuming you meant 2023, not 2024\], I updated this JSON file and also changed the path where this file is stored. Right around this time, the Google performance report showed a drop in position from 10 (which was pretty consistent over multiple months) to about 41 (last week). This is not a big issue, as this is just a hobby for me. I am just wondering what might have caused this drop and whether the JSON update could be the root cause.
