Things to do in Pune

Hi all! I and a couple of my friends are on a trip in Maharashtra and we're staying for 2 nights in Pune, we'd love suggestions for what to do and what places to visit! Also, we'll be traveling to the Mahabaleshwar... Just wanted to know is the route safe to travel on 2 wheelers or is the route drivable for an amateur car driver safely or is bus the safest option?
