Time to become rebels
Honestly, I'm not a fan of Gandhi's non-cooperation ideas. But I feel he does have a point when it comes to extremely rowdy and senseless traffic on the road. Extremism might work only if the police decide to hit idiots with laathis if driving on the wrong side, cutting lanes, blocking intersections even though they see a block ahead, etc. But if we do that, we'll just get ourselves beaten up. Here's the Gandhigiri I tried - Today, I stood right in front of a dozen two-wheelers coming the wrong way on Sinhgad road near Rajaram bridge and kept flashing my highbeams on them, completely blocking their way and the left lane. 8 of them decided to turn go the right way and probably said "Jaudya re right way ni jau, alay shahna Gandhi ani jaun det nahiye". 4 of them went the wrong way blocking the right lane as well. A nice lady stopped besides me blocking the right lane as well on her two-wheeler and supporting me saying "tyacha kay chuklay, sangatoy na toh wrong way nako jaus". I choose to do this when I have the luxury of time to reach my destination AND if I am on a busy main road. If you guys decide to do this, don't overreact, listen to some chill music, start your phone's recording for evidence or use your dashcam, lock your doors and never open windows. Don't try to do this in a secluded area where the idiots can hit you. They won't do that on busy roads.2
