Entitled jaywalkers in Pune

Anyone else noticed that Jaywalkers/Pedestrians have become super entitled these days? They will cross a busy street like the signal is red and all vehicles are at a halt. On top of that, they will just do the ✋🏻 gesture and expect Vehicles to magically stop for them. I fail to understand why these people don't value their own life or simply lack the brain cells to understand that this is very dangerous and it could lead to a huge mishap in case someone is not able to brake on time. Anyway in Pune it's the norm to blame vehicle owners for everything and beat them up and damage their vehicles. Anyone else noticed the same?
